Preserved the way you found him in the field.

Shawn Moro mounts the game you bring home — deer, elk, bear, birds and fish — the way it stood in the Cascades, carrying a family craft that goes back to 1947.

One family, one craft, one county.

The Moro family began taxidermy work in 1947, and in 1984 opened Moro Taxidermy in downtown Everett. After a fire at the Hewitt Avenue shop, the business moved out to Lake Stevens.

Shawn Moro runs it today as a small, personal operation — advertised by word of mouth, built on the work on the wall and the hunters who keep coming back.

Shawn Moro is an incredible person and taxidermist. He really brings his work to life. He did my husband’s first ever buck, a blacktail. The process took less time than estimated, and we were able to come out multiple times to discuss it.
Casey Carr
  • His timeline for my shoulder mount was spot on, he’s communicative and the work is seriously of the highest order. Highly recommend.
    Gerald Patty

    Lela Alber

How It Works

Yours to shape, start to finish.

  1. Bring it in and talk it through

Come by the shop with your animal and tell Shawn how you want it to look — the pose, the setting, the moment.

  2. Shawn positions it from the field

He mounts it the way you described it standing in the woods, not from a stock catalogue pose.

  3. Come back as it comes together

Customers come out more than once to see the work and refine the details before it’s finished.
